Are you interested in having your student assessed for highly capable services for next year? Shoreline is offering testing for hi-cap eligibility this Spring for any student not previously screened or tested during the 2018-2019 school year. On January 21st at 10:00AM the MPPTSA is offering a MLK Day of Service opportunity on the school grounds. Come prepared to pull weeds, rake leaves, and clean up the school. Join us again at 4:00PM for a Neighborhood Potluck. MPPTSA is partnering with the Meridian Park Neighborhood Association to make this event possible. There will be games and fun activities for the whole family!
The Variety Show is coming up! There is Mandatory Tech Rehearsal for ALL performers on Thursday Jan 24th 4-6 . Please wear the clothes you will be wearing for the performance. The show will be on Friday, January 25th at Shorewood Highschool from 6:00-8:30PM.
January’s Spirit Day is on Friday the 25th. It is Future Job Day. Dress up in attire representing a career you think might be in your future!
Friday is Gifted Ed Day (GED) in Olympia. This is an opportunity to learn about issues impacting Hi Cap services, see government at work, meet with legislators, and connect with Hi Cap families from other districts. Good news! We’ve decided to open our junior musical club up to KINDERGARTEN – 3RD grade students. This “Hakuna Matata” Club will perform at the Lion King performances on March 8th and 9th at Shorecrest High School. If interested, please register at www.dandylyondrama.org or contact registrar@dandylyondrama.org. Rehearsals are on Mondays, starting January 28th at 3:30pm. Limited to 25 students.

Multicultural Night is Friday, March 1st, from 6-8pm! This year, in addition to the scrumptious Cultural Potluck by MP families, the theme will be Games from Around the World. Do you like playing games? We need YOU to play/teach at game tables, or to loan game boards for games from Chess to Parcheesi, Mah Jong to Marble Mazes. We are looking for kid volunteers to organize a Pokemon and/or Magyk table for playing/trading, and much more.
