Shoreline Public Schools is committed to continuous improvement throughout our school district. To support that work the district has partnered with the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) to annually conduct their Educational Effectiveness Surveys (EES). These surveys measure perceptual data based on OSPI’s Nine Characteristics of High Performing Schools. Staff, families and students in grades 4-12 are asked to participate. The surveys are anonymous and confidential. The data gathered will be used to support the development and implementation of school improvement plans and school district priorities for continuous improvement.
Parent Survey (Closes Oct. 26)
The parent survey takes about 9-11 minutes to complete. Hard copies are available in the office in multiple languages.
Student Survey (Closes Nov. 2)
The student survey takes 12-14 minutes to complete and should only be taken by students grades 4-12.
It’s the MP PTSA Annual Campaign!! Click HERE to see and hear all about what students and staff love about the MP PTSA! We are raising money to support our students, teachers, and staff through grants, scholarships, special events, art curriculum, and much more. Use the green envelopes in your student’s take-home folder to submit a check or cash payment, or click HERE to donate online. Any amount is appreciated!
Enter our Facebook Annual Campaign Share Challenge. Starting on 10/22, every time you share our Annual Campaign message from our MP PTSA Facebook page you will be entered into a drawing for the game “Ticket To Ride”. The more you share, the more you have a chance to win!
The Fall Carnival is on Friday, October 26, from 6-8 pm, and we need YOU to volunteer to make it happen! The opportunities to help are broken into shifts, so you can volunteer AND spend time with your kids, too. Jobs include working a carnival game, the raffle table, craft table, face painting, set up and clean up. To sign up, click HERE, or e-mail Julie Reinhardt at julie@shesmoke.com if you can help. Thank you!!!
Fall Carnival Cake Walk: Another way to help with this event is to bring a dessert for the Cake Walk. All desserts are appreciated, smaller or portioned desserts are especially welcome! Just bring them right before the event between 4-6 (if possible) to the stage in the cafeteria.
New this year at the Fall Carnival – the Chiller Room and a New Mystery Dance! Check out the low-stimulus room, called the “Chiller Room,” for a break or a re-set. We’ll have some low-key, fun activities in a dimmed and quieter space. A parent should accompany their child. Also, plan to stay for a Mystery Dance at the end of the evening – a spin off from the Thriller Dance of past years.
4th Graders – Join Us for Math Club! Know a 4th grader who loves math games and puzzles? Meridian Park’s award-winning Math Club has openings for new 4th grade team members. Find out more about Math Club HERE. Scholarships available!
From the Office: What a great week we had at MP including our earthquake drill on Thursday. This month we continue to learn and practice ‘responsibility.’ We hope you will support the PTA Fall Campaign with a donation at any level; every little bit helps support more at our school. Good luck Running Club at Hamlin on Thursday, and we hope to see everyone at our PTA Family Carnival on Friday. Please be sure to complete the district survey – links above. Thanks for our partnership and see you soon. David, Derek, and Staff
