MP Update for the Week of 10/29

Wednesday – Early Release Day, 1:50 Dismissal

Thursday – Community Candidate and Initiative Forum, MP Cafeteria, 6-9PM (details below)

Please note: some classrooms may be having parties this week to celebrate Fall! Check out the district’s Smart Snacks resources HERE if you plan to bring a treat to support one of these celebrations.

If you have not already filled out the district’s Educational Effectiveness survey, please take the time to do so by clicking on one of these links by November 2nd:  Parent Survey | Student Survey.

It’s the MPPTSA Annual Campaign!! Click HERE to get a glimpse of what MPPTSA does to enrich our school community, and then consider showing your support by making a donation to the annual campaign. Use the green envelopes in your student’s take-home folder to submit a check or cash payment, or click HERE to donate online. Any amount is appreciated, and all funds support our students, teachers, and staff through grants, scholarships, special events, art curriculum, and more!

Enter our Facebook Annual Campaign Share Challenge. Starting on 10/22, every time you share our Annual Campaign message from our MPPTSA Facebook page you will be entered into a drawing for the game “Ticket To Ride”. The more you share, the more you have a chance to win!

Join us on Thursday, November 1st, from 6-9pm for the Candidate and Initiative Forum in the MP cafeteria. This community event is brought to you by your MPPTSA and is open to the public. Feel free to bring your neighbors as you learn about local ballot initiatives and meet candidates. All 32nd Legislative District candidates have been invited.  There will be free coffee and a bake sale by your MPPTSA.  We hope you can join us and inform your vote!

Scare Away Hunger! This Halloween, consider helping to fight hunger in your community by collecting donations while you trick-or-treat! Scare Away Hunger is sponsored by Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) and North Helpline. If interested, grab a Scare Away Hunger Donation Can from the North Helpline office, put on your winning Halloween costume, and while trick-or-treating, ask for donations to support your community. Office location: 12736 33rd Ave NE  Office hours (donation can pickup): Tues & Wed 10AM-4PM.

Ms. Bentley’s and Ms. Borovina’s classes are still in need of a room coordinator! This is a great way to lend your time, even if you’re unable to volunteer in person — and even if your student isn’t in the class! Most of this position can be fulfilled from your computer. If you’re interested, please contact Sage Kleinhanz at

Thank you kindergarten families for sending in your family pictures for the Cheetah Family Spotlight!  The pictures will be returned this week. Next up, FIRST AND SECOND GRADE families! Please send in your family pictures with your student’s name and teacher’s name on the back, so we can return it at the end of December. Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces on the Cheetah Family Spotlight!

Lost and Found will be donated by the end of the week!! Please have your kiddos look through it for any of their belongings. Remember to put NAMES on all student items. They will be returned if the owner can be identified.

From the Office:  We are finishing up October will fall and harvest celebrations; thanks for your involvement.  Thank you very much Julie, Naomi, Jax, and many others for an amazing PTA Carnival Family Night on Friday.  Thanks everyone for attending a great night of fun and celebration thanks to efforts and planning of everyone involved.  We want to remind and emphasize to everyone about being safe and enjoying healthy treats and snacks this week and whenever we celebrate at school.  Please be sure to complete the district survey if you have not done so already.  We look forward to seeing you soon.  On behalf of the entire staff, Derek and I are grateful for your family and our partnership.  -David Tadlock
