Awards season is upon us! Please submit your nominations HERE for Golden Apple, Golden Acorn and Outstanding Advocate by April 14th. Winners will be recognized with a commemorative pin and a wonderful dinner at the Shoreline Center with winners from across the school district.

A big THANK YOU to all of the families who participated in this year’s Read-a-Thon. Together, we read over 230,000 minutes (That’s 3,834 hours…or 160 days…or 638 school days)! Congratulations to Velvet Wu for the winning t-shirt design, and Clarisse Song for the winning bookmark design. Prizes will start to come home with students late this week and into early next week. A more detailed run-down of this year’s event will be featured in the April Cheetah Chatter. Until next year, Read On.

The Shoreline Hi Cap Parent Association (SHCPA) is hosting an informal drop-in session for new and prospective parents, Tuesday, April 9, from 7:00-8:00PM at the Ridgecrest Elementary cafeteria (16516-10th Ave NE).  Please stop by!  Questions? Contact us at: shoreline.hicap.advocacy@gmail.com

Feed the family and help Raise Some Dough for camp! Domino’s Pizza will donate 15% of ALL proceeds from each of two stores on April 10th from 4-7PM. So spread the news to local family and friends, and skip the cooking on Wednesday. All funds raised will go toward lowering the cost of camp for 6th grade families next school year.

Participating locations:  Shoreline – 20030 Ballinger Way, 98155 (206)365-6011 | Broadview – 302 N 125th St, 98133 (206)363-3911 | Order online (even in advance) HERE.

Meridian Park is hosting a Highly Capable Open House on Thursday, April 11th, from 2:00-3:00 PM. Join us for a tour, a parent/staff meet & greet, and an opportunity for Q & A. Enter through the Meridian Park main entrance, under the clock. Parents and students are invited, no sign-up required. We hope to see you!

To celebrate 75 incredible years of teaching, learning and community support, District staff invite you to attend a “birthday” party on Friday, April 12th, from 6-8PM,  with a 5-6pm Early Open for special needs and other families who would like a lower-stimulation experience of all the fun. A Recharge Room hosted by the Shoreline Special Needs PTSA will be offered throughout the event . See you in the Shoreline Room, 18560 1st Ave NE! More info HERE.

From the Office:  We had a great first week of April with our Cheetahs learning and growing.  Thanks to our PTA Board and Members for your positive energy and support of our school. We are learning and practicing leadership and what leaders say and do this month; please talk about at home.  Please also mark your calendars for Family Fun Night and our 25th Birthday Party on April 18. Every family is invited and welcome.  Thank you for your family and our partnership.  – MP Staff
