Multicultural Festival & Game Night! THIS Friday, March 1, 6:00-8:00 PM, come celebrate the cultural diversity at our school with food and fun! Potluck: Bring a cultural or family favorite dish to the potluck. Label it with the country of origin (and ingredients). Games: it’s game night in the gym! Every culture in the world plays games, so we will have tables with games to play, like Snakes and Ladders, Chess, Chinese Go, Apples to Apples, and many more! Entertainment: We have a hot line-up of entertainment on the stage. Come see Han’s World Taekwondo amaze us with their martial arts demo, the Shorecrest Highland Dancers show us their Scottish moves, Peter Ali, Native American musician & storyteller weave his tales, and the Shorewood Hip Hop Performance Team step it up! Everyone invited to join the fun and there is no cost!
Multicultural Festival Needs You! We need lots of volunteers to help at the games or potluck tables. All the “shifts” allow time for you to enjoy the event with your child. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/2GqFjeg. High School students encouraged to volunteer, too!

Get ready to Read! Due to snow, this year’s Read-A-Thon will begin on March 4, so that materials can be sent home with students this week. The t-shirt and bookmark design contest will still begin on February 27th. All reading counts! So read to your student, encourage your older student to read to younger students, or share a story podcast together. Any way you do it, get ready to read on!
On Thursday, March 7, Mr. Dalasta and Mr. Tadlock invite you to an informal, informative presentation regarding the results of the community surveyadministered back in October. The presentations will be at 6:30 PM in room 108 (for K) or the Library (for grades 1-6) and will last about 30 minutes. Interpreters will be provided if needed. You can also access info on the About Us page of our MP website. We hope you will join us!
Tickets are on sale now for MP’s 2019 Spring musical: Disney’s The Lion King, Jr.! Our grades K-3 Hakuna Mata Club and grades 4-5-6 Drama Club students have been hard at work since January, through rain, shine, and snow to prepare for their performances! Come see our very own MP Prides at 7:00 PM on March 8 or 9 at Shorecrest Performing Arts Center. Click HERE to purchase tickets.
The yearbook staff is looking for your photos. Have you captured a sharable moment on your phone or camera from an MP event, field trip, or day-to-day classroom interaction? You can email it directly to email@example.com. The photo submission deadline is April 15th for our 2018-2019 yearbook.
It’s never too late to show some love for our Meridian Park PTSA! Consider becoming a member, if you haven’t already, or making a donation to support scholarships for clubs, skate nights, and Mariners tickets so that all of our families can have fun! You can join or donate online any time at https://mpptsa.org/.
From the Office: Welcome Back! We are looking forward to being on a regular schedule this week and conferences next week. Please confirm your conference with your teacher(s). Reminder: report cards were sent home on Feb 15; if you were absent, they will go home Monday. If you need support for attending the conference, please contact Annie Gage or Susie Moore. We hope to see everyone at our PTA Family Fun Night this Friday and at The Lion King on March 8 or 9. We are grateful for everyone’s support and flexibility during the snow break and we are ready to move into March committed to the learning and personal growth of each and every Cheetah. Please tell you student(s) how much we and you believe in them and to never forget their greatness. Mr. Tadlock, Mr. Dalasta, and Staff
