Thursday – Kindergarten Anti-Bullying Assembly, 9:30 AM in the cafeteria

Thursday – PTA School Skate Night, 6:00-8:00PM (see below)

Friday – Last day for Lost & Found (see below)

Lost and Found will be on display this week until Friday February 8th. Please have your children look through it for their items. And please put your name on your things as anything with a name in it will be returned. Thank you.


Join us THIS Tuesday, February 5, for a special PTSA meeting featuring our Deans of Students, who will introduce themselves and their role. We will dedicate the remaining meeting time to Stop the Bleed training. Space is limited to 30 people, so please RSVP in advance to stopthebleed.shoreline@gmail.com.  It’s OK to come for the Dean of Students part and take off!  Hope to see you.  (free childcare provided)


Kindergarten registration for fall 2019 begins this week and continues into the fall (residents only).  Shoreline and LFP resident families register at their neighborhood school and MP resident families register at MP.  Please note:  all resident families are guaranteed a kindergarten classroom assignment in a Shoreline school; while registration is encouraged by Feb 28, it is not first come first served, and registration is open through the fall. If questions, please give us a call.


Guest speaker event:  Monday, February 4, 2019 (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Shorewood High School theater), the Shoreline Hi Cap Parent Association, in partnership with the Shoreline PTA Council, welcomes back Austina De Bonte of the Northwest Gifted Child Association for her presentation, “What Parents and Educators Need to Know About Smart Kids.” This is a free event. Please reserve your seat in advance thru EventbriteA limited number of free “first come, first serve” childcare spots are available via RSVP. Please email shoreline.hicap.advocacy@gmail.com with your name, number of child(ren),  their names and ages, to reserve this service. Children must be potty-trained.

Future Events and Volunteer Opportunities

We are starting our search for PTSA board members for next year.  There are opportunities big and small for all types of voices and skill sets.  Please contact the nomination team – Callie at calliel_@hotmail.com or Whitney at  whitneyhardie@gmail.com or ask another PTSA board member how you can help!   We are excited to bring you onto the team next year!


The yearbook staff is looking for your photos. Have you captured a sharable moment on your phone or camera from an MP event, field trip, or day-to-day classroom interaction? You can email it directly to mppstayearbook@gmail.com. The photo submission deadline is April 15th for our 2018-2019 yearbook.


Multicultural Night is Friday, March 1st, from 6-8pm!  If you would like to play or teach at our Games from Around the World tables, please contact Julie Reinhardt: julie@shesmoke.com or (206) 331-8279.


The annual Shoreline Math Olympiad (SMO) event is on March 9th. All MP 4-6th grade students are eligible to participate, including students that are NOT enrolled in math club.  If you know an interested cheetah, have them register on 6crickets.  More information about this year’s event is on the SMO website.  Interested in volunteering? The Spring Auction needs you! The MP Spring Auction committee is actively seeking auction items. If you have something to donate or would like to help procure items for this event on April 18, contact: jacquelinhiggins@gmail.com.


Community Survey Information Night – if you are interested in learning more about the District Educational Effectiveness Survey from October, please join us for a short summary on Feb 12 at 6:30 in the library.  There will also be opportunities the first week of March. The results will also posted on the District and MP websites by the end of this week.


From the Office:  Congratulations to our amazing Cheetahs for a super successful first semester. Thanks for supporting a very productive staff work day on Friday and early release time again this week on Wednesday. We have two busy weeks until mid-winter break.  Everyone invited to meet our Deans this Tuesday at 6:30 and join Stop the Bleed training at 7:00; or attend either part of this regular PTA meeting night (care provided; see above).
