Giving Tuesday to Our Community

This “Giving Tuesday” the Meridian Park PTSA is not asking you to give to us. You have already been generous in financially supporting our programs and stepping up to volunteer when you can. This is not to say that we are overrun with money, it’s quite the opposite. Unfortunately, we have fallen short of our fall fundraising goal but right now we are asking you to give what you can to organizations in our community that help our students and their families in ways that we cannot.

We’ve put together a list of organizations who clothe, feed, educate, and provide medical care within our community where we think you should consider donating this year.

Shoreline PTA Council – Provides support to Shoreline School District families with a low income or circumstances that make it challenging to clothe their children, provide holiday food and gifts, and be ready to start school in the fall.

Hopelink – Provides support of families through the provision of basic needs, such as shelter and food among other services. Hopelink’s Shoreline location provides food to families twice a month with extra provisions being offered during summer months.

Mary’s Place – Provides many resources for families in need including shelter, clothing, medical care, and many other services. Mary’s Place has opened a 40 bed shelter in Shoreline at 160th and Aurora.

The Shoreline branch provides ESL classes, storytime in multiple languages, citizenship classes, and health insurance enrollment help.

We hope you are compelled to give to one of these organizations today, or in the future. They are very deserving of your help. Thank you!
