MP Wrestling Rhinos
Do you have a wrestler? Mr. Alford is coaching MP’s Wrestling Rhinos and they begin practices on November 6th and run Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:30-4:45 pm, until January 17th. Your child will learn the basics of folkstyle wrestling and have fun. Cost is $15 for USA Card and $105 Club Practice Fee. Scholarships are also available. The group is limited to the first 40 participants. To register, visit www.wrestlingrhinos.org. If you have questions or are interested in being a parent coach/volunteer, you can contact Mr. Alford at matt.alford@shorelineschools.org. Parents who coach or volunteer will have their club fee waived.
Box Tops
Thank you for submitting Box Tops! Keep them coming as our first deadline is the end of October. It is much appreciated if you can cut them before submitting, but if you cannot cut them, that is okay too!
MP Fall Carnival
Now that you have the right date in your calendar for the Fall Carnival, how about helping out? We have lots of jobs that need to be filled. Studies have shown that parents who volunteer for school events on average lose 10 pounds more than non-volunteering parents*. Sign up on-line here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094fa9ab2aabfe3-volunteer or simply e-mail Julie Reinhardt at julie@shesmoke.com (*No studies have been made and the claim is absolutely unfounded, but hey, how about volunteer and be a test subject?).
Math Club
Due to overwhelming demand our 4th and 5th grade classes are completely full. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any more 4th and 5th grade students. Late registrations will be placed on a waiting list in case space becomes available.
Just in the nick of time… We would like to introduce our 3rd grade math club co-coaches, Lisa and Zachary. We plan to start 3rd grade class Wednesday 10/25 @ 8am in Room 402. For the first day of math club we ask that parents escort their kids to the classroom. If interested please register your 3rd graders for math club!
Registration info is on our website www.mpmathclub.com. Please email mpmathclub@gmail.com if you have further questions.
Yearbook Pictures Needed
The Yearbook staff is looking for your photos from classrooms, events, and field trips. You can email your photos to mpptsayearbook@gmail.com. Also, if you would like to be more involved in the yearbook, you can contact Molly at the yearbook email.
MP Multicultural Festival
Multicultural Festival, Thursday, November 16 needs YOU! We are seeking folks to host cultural tables. Share your culture with our students with simple activities and items or pictures that tell your story. Interpreters are available!
Other ways to help: Set up and clean up – many hands make work light! Bring a dish to the multicultural pot luck. Help with the pot luck table setting up, and arranging dishes by country or region. Perform – do you perform (or know someone who does) in a cultural act (music, dance or other art)? We also need someone to run the sound system to keep the flow going. Have your child participate in the Traditional Dress Fashion Show. Or help with posters and flyers to get the word out. There are lots of ways to help for this wonderful MP all-school event.
