Art Docent Project
ART DOCENT Project Prep: new and returning Docents, please join our next Orientation (project prep) meeting Monday October 23rd, 9:15am in the Teacher’s lounge. We will review our Fall school-wide (1st-6th) project and confirm class coverage. If interested, but can’t attend, please email email@example.com with your child’s class(es)/teacher(s). Thank you!
Natural Leaders is a project run by WABS (Washington Alliance for Better Schools) and is here in the Shoreline School District. Natural Leaders are multicultural families at schools that are identified as warm, caring, social individuals to serve as a bridge between families/community and schools. Did you know there are Natural Leaders in your school? Come to a meeting on Monday, October 16th at 5:00 pm in the MP Library to learn about Natural Leaders and how you can become involved! To learn more, visit http://www.wabsalliance.org/community-leadership/natural-leaders/.
Thank you for submitting Box Tops! Keep them coming as our first deadline is the end of October. It is much appreciated if you can cut them before submitting, but if you cannot cut them, that is okay too!
MP Fall Carnival
Now that you have the right date in your calendar for the Fall Carnival, how about helping out? We have lots of jobs that need to be filled. Studies have shown that parents who volunteer for school events on average lose 10 pounds more than non-volunteering parents*. Sign up on-line here: http://www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C094FA9AB2AABFE3-volunteer or simply e-mail Julie Reinhardt at firstname.lastname@example.org (*No studies have been made and the claim is absolutely unfounded, but hey, how about volunteer and be a test subject?).
Math Club begins Wednesday, Oct. 18th at 8:00 am in room 501 (6th grade), room 502 (5th grade), and room 401 (4th grade). Yes, we have a 4th grade coach now so please register your 4th graders for math club! For the first day of Math Club, we ask that parents escort their kids to the classroom. We are unable to offer a 3rd grade session at this time due to lack of a coach however, we encourage you to register 3rd graders anyway in case a coach materializes. Please email email@example.com if you are interested in coaching. More info available at http://www.mpmathclub.com.
MP Multicultural Festival
Multicultural Festival, Thursday, November 16 needs YOU! We are seeking folks to host cultural tables. Share your culture with our students with simple activities and items or pictures that tell your story. Interpreters are available!
Other ways to help: Set up and clean up – many hands make work light! Bring a dish to the multicultural pot luck. Help with the pot luck table setting up, and arranging dishes by country or region. Perform – do you perform (or know someone who does) in a cultural act (music, dance or other art)? We also need someone to run the sound system to keep the flow going. Have your child participate in the Traditional Dress Fashion Show. Or help with posters and flyers to get the word out. There are lots of ways to help for this wonderful MP all-school event.
Please e-mail or call:
