THIS WEEK AT Meridian Park
March 28 & 29 – Open House for Newly Qualified Hicap Families (see below for details)
Open House for Newly Qualified Hicap Families
There will be an Open House for families of students who have qualified in both reading and math and are therefore eligible to attend our magnet program. These events are a good time to learn about the schools and their HiCap programs. Principals, teachers, and Mr. Tadlock will be on hand to answer your questions. Your children are welcome to attend with you.
Ridgecrest Open House for eastside families – March 28, 2:30 pm
Meridian Park Open House for westside families – March 29, 2:00 pm
If you are unable to attend the open house, there will be an evening meeting where you can learn about the programs on April 4, 7:00-8:00 pm. The meeting will be at the Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave. NE, Shoreline, in the Aurora Room. You do not need to register in advance and your children are welcome to come with you.
Talking to Kids About Race – Kids have a way of asking questions that are not always easy to answer. When you throw the topic of race in, it can get a bit dicey. Having conversations about race is not designed to be comfortable, but the need to engage with our youth is essential to having healthy conversations as they grow, and as adults, we grow with them. This workshop will offer awareness, skills and practice. Please join us April 24th from 6:30-8:30 pm in the Einstein MS Cafeteria. Workshop conducted by Dr. Tanisha Brandon-Felder, Director of Equity and Family Engagement.
