LANDSCAPING DAY AT MP
Our neighbors, Aurora Church of the Nazarene, will be having a service day this Sunday, May 1 from 9am-11am to do weeding at Meridian Park Elementary. Feel free to join the group as we beautify our school. Please bring your own gardening gloves and tools. Hope to see you there!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
May 2 – 6 is Teacher Appreciation Week! Please consider taking the time to let your teacher know how much you appreciate him/her! We love our MP teachers!

PTSA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Please join us for the PTSA BOD meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd from 7:00 – 8:30pm in the MP Library. We will be discussing general PTSA business and all are welcome!

SHORELINE STEM FESTIVAL
The Shoreline STEM Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at Shoreline Community College. There will be hands-on science activities and demonstrations and a career expo featuring opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math. 2016 MERIDIAN PARK ARTS FESTIVAL – THURSDAY, MAY 26
Our annual arts celebration includes a vocal music concert, which this year will feature all 2nd and 4th graders (including Ms. Reed’s 1st graders and Ms. Peters’ 3rd graders) as well as poetry readings, and visual arts displayed around the building. Please see the concert schedule below.

Please plan to attend this wonderful event with your family! This is our grand championship arts “game”–the only one! We are so eager to share our beautiful music with you! You won’t want to miss it!

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
In May we are learning about ‘being positive’ with our words and actions. Please talk about this with your students, and make some goals for ‘being positive’ at home. State testing begins this month for grades 3-6 and we always appreciate your help with on time attendance and limited early dismissals on testing days. Thanks again for everything – Mr. T
