PTSA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Please join us for the April PTSA General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 5th from 7:00-8:30pm in the Library. During the short business meeting, we will be voting on next year’s PTSA budget as well as voting in new Executive Board members. We will also be hosting pediatrician Dr. Giselle Falkenberg from Richmond Pediatrics who will give a presentation on topics related to puberty (including emotions, headaches, stomachaches, friendships…). There will be plenty of time to take questions from the audience. Dale Turner YMCA will provide free childcare. Hope to see you there!

Ways for Community Members to Support Gay/Straight Alliances at the LGBTQ & Allies Family Potluck Dinner
On Thursday evening April 7 from 5:30 -7:30 the first ever LGBTQ & Allies Family Potluck Dinner will be held, in a cooperative effort between the Shoreline School District, Shoreline PTA Council, and the community. This event will be held in the Shoreline Room at the Shoreline Center (18560 1st Ave NE).

We encourage all Shoreline school community members to join in this festive, welcome dinner.

During this event, the Gay/Straight Alliances (GSA) from our secondary schools (Shorecrest, Shorewood, Kellogg and Einstein) will be raising funds for their organizations by having a bake sale. Funds will be distributed evenly between the groups and will be used for events such as hosting speakers and purchasing promotional items to increase their visibility in their school communities.

Ways you can support this event:
1. Attend! Make a reservation using this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lgbtq-allies-family-potluck-dinner-thursday-april-7th-2016-530pm-730pm-tickets-21309730979. Reservations are not required if you find that you can make it at the last minute, please come!!

2. Contribute a baked goods item for the bake sale.

The kids will run the sale, but they will need help with things to sell. If you can, please consider donating something yummy, cut into serving size pieces. The items will not be individually priced; a basket for donations will be available for people who want to “purchase” dessert.

To donate, please contact Kim Darcy to drop items at the Shoreline Center on Thursday April 7 at kim.darcy@shorelineschools.org. To make other arrangements, please contact Lisa at surowieclisa@gmail.com.

3. Donate art supplies or lend legos!

These same high school and middle school students will also be leading small group lego and craft activities for younger children. Community members wishing to donate arts supplies or lend lego or other building items may contact parent volunteer Scott Shiebler at doctorsos27@gmail.com.

This will certainly be an inspiring evening as we build community together. We appreciate all the support from every corner of our district. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Tanisha-Brandon-Felder, Director of Equity and Family Engagement, Shoreline Schools at tanisha.felder@shorelineschools.org.
