EMPOWER THE CHEETAH FALL FUNDRAISER
Please consider making a donation to the Empower the Cheetah fundraiser sponsored by the MP PTSA. Pledge forms went home two weeks ago and can also be found on the mpptsa.org website and Facebook page. 100% of your donation goes towards all MP students. Funds raised will pay for free all school events (Fall Harvest & Cultural Fest, Movie Night, Spring Family Fun Night, etc…), scholarships for before/after school enrichment classes, teacher grants, and so much more. Check out the donation thermometer in the lobby to see how much MP families have donated. Thanks for your support!

PTSA FALL HARVEST AND CULTURE FEST – October 29th
Come in costume or traditional dress to the PTSA Fall Harvest and Culture Fest! Join us Thursday, October 29th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the cafeteria for entertainment from different cultural acts and in the gym for Meridian Park Around the World. MP families will host tables showcasing their heritage, culture, or birthplace with artifacts, photos, and other engaging items and activities.

We still need more families to host tables. Are you from Seattle? You can host a Pacific NW table! Were you born in another state? You can host a Hawaii table!

Volunteers are also needed for set up, pie potluck, face painting, and clean up. If interested in volunteering, please contact Jill Steinberg atjrsteinberg or Dana Doerksen at gasbarri. Your support makes this event possible!

STUDENT COUNCIL
The first Student Council meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct 29th from 8:30-9am in Ms. Quezada’s classroom. If your child is interested in being a room representative, have her/him talk to her/his teacher.

FROM THE P.E. DEPARTMENT
During the month of October in Physical Education, Meridian Park 1st-6th students have been learning a line dance based on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” All students are invited to come perform at the Fall Harvest & Cultural Fest in the gym at 7:45 pm. Check in with Mr. Alford at the gym no later than 7:15.

Mr. Alford is looking for a volunteer to help him design and maintain a “Community Opportunity Board”. As little as one hour a week of commitment.

VOLLEYBALL CLUB
Beginning Volleyball Club for 5th and 6th grade students begins November 10th. The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings from8:15 to 9:00 am through December 17th. There are currently five open spots left in club. Permission slips are available from Jill G. in the main office. Contact Mr. Alford or Mrs. Borovina for more details.

PTSA BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S MEETING
Please join us on Tuesday, November 3rd from 7:00-8:30pm in the Library for the PTSA Board of Director’s meeting. Everyone welcome. Free childcare provided by the Dale Turner YMCA.

LOST AND FOUND
Please check lost and found by October 30th. All items left will be donated to The Works.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Trick or Treat Lane happening at Aurora Church (175th & Meridian) on Sunday, October 25 from 4-6pm. There will be crafts, games, trick or treating and more for kids of all ages…wear your costume and come join us, everyone is welcome!

Conferences were awesome thanks to you and our amazing staff. We appreciate the time Monday to grow and learn about our literacy and math instruction.
