STUDENT COUNCIL
There will be an informational meeting in room 407 for all interested 5th and 6th graders during 2nd recess on Wednesday, September 24th. Then the assembly for potential officers to give their speech is on Tuesday, October 7th. The first day of Student Council, for reps and officers, will be Thursday, October 16th. 2nd-6th graders are encouraged to run for room representative but only 5th and 6th graders can run for the officer positions. Any questions, ask Ms. Q.
SPECIAL NEEDS PTA MEETING – September 24 6:30

WALK-A-THON – September 26 from 1:45 – 3:00 pm
Here’s your chance to make a donation to the ASB/Student Council’s walk-a-thon to raise money for field trips, playground toys and much more. All the money raised from the walk-a-thon is used for MP students. Volunteers are needed before to set up the water station, after and during the event to help monitor students. ENRICHMENT
The Meridian Park PTSA is proud to announce another fun after school enrichment program, Writer Doodle: Novels and More. This class celebrates the serious fun of writing with hands on, fun experiments in words for 4th through 6th graders. Class will be held at Meridian Park in the computer lab on Wednesdays, from 3:30 – 5:00 pm.
Cost: $100 per session. See flyer sent home in kid mail this past Wednesday or check out christinepinto or 206-546-5150.
SKATING PARTY – Thursday, October 2 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Join us for the first skating party of the year at Lynnwood Bowl & Skate, 6210 200th St. SW, Lynnwood. Admission is $6.50 which includes quad skate rental. Pay an additional $3.00 for in line skates. Parents are encouraged to participate. No drop-offs allowed. Feel free to bring your helmet! Hope to see you there!
FALL SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS COMING SOON!
The book fair will run Wednesday through Friday, October 8th – 10th, 8:40 – 4:00 daily, during the student day as well as during parent-teacher conferences.
In order to have a successful book fair, we are seeking volunteers. If you would like to work a one- or two-hour shift, please contact Jenny Hillger at jenny.hillger.
